H2SO OFFICE SPACE CALCULATOR

The H2SO Office Space Calculator App (OSCA) is available free from the iTunes App Store and enables occupiers to convert what they know they need in terms of facilities - workstations, cellular offices, meeting rooms, kitchenettes, storage etc - into a specific amount of square feet of space.

Ed Betts of H2SO comments: "It's a necessary convention that offices to let are marketed on the basis of how much space is available in terms of square feet. However, many occupiers - particularly those sourcing a workplace for the first time - do not have a feel for what square footage equates to in terms of their operational needs.

"We have noticed this especially among the huge number of smaller scale occupiers who drive the office market in London West End locations such as the Carnaby Street Estate. We hope that OSCA gives occupiers a better idea of what their needs translate to in terms of square footage and so can more accurately evaluate if what's on the market suits their needs."

"Also, as the app allows you to change the variables of your requirements, it can help businesses see how much they could save by getting right the amount of space they require.

"It doesn't replace the search process but we hope it will help streamline the matching of occupiers to offices."
